This group's purpose is to cultivate a tribe of like-minded, intelligent, independent women in our twenties to meet for some coffee, breakfast, and worth-while conversation. This group is reserved for women in their twenties who are either new to Chicago or who want to branch out of your social circle. This group is a place not only for engaging new friendships, but also unearthing new restaurants. At the present time, I will schedule a brunch every other Sunday. As this meet-up evolves, I hope …

Cafe Society is not a new idea. In Beethoven's time in Vienna, great minds gathered over coffee, a beverage that only recently had eclipsed tea as the Viennese hot beverage of choice, to discuss all manner of cultural and intellectual concerns, face to face, undistracted. The Stock Exchange of that day was conceptualized and created in a local coffee house. Coffee houses still exist today but Cafe' Society proposes a more social alternate to a computer screen. Discussion, locally produced art an …
We will try each of these coffee shops 1. BRIDGEPORT COFFEE HOUSE The coffee-roasting operation on the corner of Morgan and 31st Street is a point of pride for Bridgeport and a source of jealousy for almost every other neighborhood. Housed in a prototypically warm-toned, wood-heavy coffeehouse (only without the fleabag couches and drum-circle vibe), Bridgeport Coffee sets itself apart by roasting its own beans and brewing them with levels of respect usually reserved for presidents. The pour-ov …

If a trip to the museum, a cup of coffee, or a shopping buddy is what you're looking for, then you've come to the right place!
This is a group under Salvation & Deliverance Ministries that is open to all. Our purpose is to encourage a Christ-centered group where we can grow in love for God, God's Word, His people, His work and one another through reading books that teach such things. Having lost my husband to cancer seven years ago, I realise how important it is to get support from other people who have lost a husband or a wife, either because they passed away or through a divorce. I hope to form a close group of men and women who will always find a sympathetic person willing to lend an ear when needed. I intend to organise a variety of meetings such as dinners, cocktails, or just coffee, tea and yummy desserts.

This group is now 2 years old and getting better all the time. The group is small enough we can get to know each other rather than a new group of strangers to play with each week. Our members are fun, interesting smart women of various ages and backgrounds. Rummikub is the most fun you can have at a game table with women. It takes a little strategy, a little luck, and some great friends to play with. Not terribly hard to learn, but it is a little addictive! We play weekdays, usually Tuesday and …

I am an avid crocheter and recognize that there are those less fortunate than I. In the past I have crocheted afghans that I have donated to the Salvation Army Family Shelter. We will focus on crocheting or knitting scarves, hats, slippers and mittens for those in shelters in the local area. I can teach crochet as I am self-taught. I have patterns that I will share for the express purpose of creating the items to be donated to charity. As the group grows, and our skills grow, we can branch out i …
